TYPE OF CLASSES

Do you have an Achilles heel? Everyone does, right? For most of us, the thing holding us back from more efficient movement and being more comfortable in our training is mobility.
Mobility is the ability to move comfortably through a full range of motion, E.g. squatting below parallel or moving a kettlebell overhead. The more we work on this the more comfortable the movements become.
A more relaxed format with 2 classes a week focusing on upper body and lower body mobility, this is a great opportunity to learn and put into practice a range of techniques that will enhance your ability to lift and perform in all of our other classes. Learn a thing or two that you can implement into your pre and post class routine, whether travelling or at home and learn to move and feel better.

The building blocks of movement is our elements course. We understand it can be intimidating coming in to the gym for the first time and feeling like everyone is speaking a different language. We get it.
Elements is designed to teach you the basics, squatting/pressing/lifting/bodyweight movements so that you can then join any of our classes with the extra confidence from knowing you have performed the movements before. Each class is focused on a different type of movement, so come as often as you like and there will always be something new for you to learn, or a chance to reinforce what you have been learning over the last few weeks.
This is not just a class for the brand new to fitness however, as if you are more advanced it is a great chance to brush up on technique or start working towards those more advanced lifting or gymnastics skills under the watchful eyes of our experienced coaches in a small group setting.

What is fitness? Fitness is not just about lifting weight with a barbell or being able to perform bodyweight gymnastics movements. Fitness is about lifting odd objects, being able to sprint, jump, change direction. Fitness is about using all the implements at your disposal so that nothing is ever a surprise, training with dumbbells, kettlebells, sandbags, battle ropes etc.
Our FIT class is not just about getting you a great workout in, although that is a given, it is about teaching you skills you can take away and incorporate in your own training going forward. FIT has a focus on improving the ten physical skills-Endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance & Accuracy.
If you can get even a little better at any of these skills then you are a fitter human being, and who doesn’t want that? We want to open your eyes to what is possible with fitness and up skill you so you can improve your fitness in all aspects, not just adding weight to a barbell and squatting a little heavier each week.

Let’s be honest. Everybody could be stronger. Let us help. Our strength class is a combination of the basic barbell and dumbbell movements of squatting, pressing and deadlifting with the accessory lifts that will help you get stronger and importantly, move better and more efficiently.
Not just the static strength lifts, our strength class also involves Olympic lifting with no previous experience necessary, so we can help you develop explosive strength that will carry over to all aspects of your training. A structured strength and lifting program for those regularly attending, with some new skills and training ideas being taught if you are only with us for a short while.

Do you like cardio? Do you love cardio? Burn is the class for you, with bodyweight exercises and cardio equipment combined in a circuit format this class is guaranteed to leave you feeling like you have crushed your workout for the day. Constant interval work with short rest periods in between exercises guarantees that your heart rate will remain elevated for the hour.
No complex movements, no worries. Show up and be ready to sweat, but BURN is only as hard as you make it, so this class is extremely suitable for our beginners to the gym scene all the way through to the more advanced athlete just wanting to burn those calories.

Constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity- basically a complex way of saying that we perform different exercises and movements but not randomly put together. These are the movements that help you out in everyday life, need to sit down? You’re doing a squat. Need to pick up your toddler from the ground? You’re doing a deadlift.
The last piece of the puzzle is the high intensity, simply work hard and get results. Barbells, bodyweight movement and cardio all get a run in our CrossFit classes. Importantly this is relative to your fitness level and familiarity with the movements, as our experienced coaches will scale the movements and workouts to a level suitable for you!
Our Barbell class focuses on improving weightlifting technique in the Snatch and Clean and Jerk, barbell cycling and conditioning, as well as help members acquire basic positional strength through the font, back and overhead squat. Lift weights better and more efficiently, and see improvements in explosive power and strength with this class.
This class is suitable for intermediate to advanced CrossFitters. The programming for this class will usually be higher in volume and movements prescribed will be more complex. The assigned coach will train with attendees, and there will be less instruction as compared to our regular CrossFit class.
