Head Coach, Nicholas Grant White's Full Bio
Meet Coach Nick! Born in 1988 on June 20th along the Australian Surf Coast, he grew up in a small town of 2000 people called Barwon Heads. After visiting Bali for holidays over the years, he found himself training in Fortitude a year ago and immediately clicked with the gym and decided that he would like to live in Bali someday. From the lifestyle, people and gym vibes, he immediately fell in love with the island.
Encouraging and articulated, his background in fitness began with competitive rowing and basketball in high school followed by bodybuilding training at the gym from the age of 19. He participated in natural bodybuilding competitions before getting into CrossFit and functional movement training. That marked the beginning of his CrossFit journey, where he got hooked on training in movements with real world application.
When it comes to his personal fitness routine, he trains 5-6 days a week with an active recovery day, and does some fitness outside of the gym whether that is surfing/hiking or training outside on a good day. This go-getter sets himself up for almost anything but above all – he specializes in Olympic lifting and strength based movements.A natural leader at heart, he is owner to CrossFit Bellarine, a CrossFit box located in Victoria. After opening his own gym, he found it rewarding to see how people were able to progress from brand new to fitness to feeling comfortable completing their own workouts and eventually, finding the confidence to visit other gyms when they travel. In his eyes, the best moments come from clients learning new skills or achieving something they never thought possible.
Nick is best known for his empathy and patience, especially when dealing with complex movements and skills, he believes that everyone gets them at their own pace as we all learn things very differently. He finds different ways of cuing people on movements, whether that is verbal, tactile or visual. Seeing the lightbulb going off in someone’s head is what drives Coach Nick to get creative in his ways of explanations. He finds it most rewarding to know that giving someone the smallest cue or change can result in huge improvements in their technique or the amount of weight they are able to lift.

Coach, Yunus Alwi's Full Bio
Hailing from Central Java, Indonesia, Coach Yunus was always a fitness enthusiast at heart. As a child he loved swimming and even mastered the art of ‘taekwondo’. Needless to say, his dream job was to be a fitness trainer. During his previous job at a Taiwan-based wellness company, he gained a keen interest and understanding of the holistic approach to health. Although Yunus had been working out consistently throughout his adulthood at Globo gyms, he craved something more challenging. This, coupled with his pursuit of health led him to CrossFit.
Yunus’ love for CrossFit has continued to grow since 2015, and he is on his way to becoming a certified CrossFit L1 Trainer. His training regime consists of mainly CrossFit, but he likes to mix it up with HIIT regularly. Yunus is best known for his positivity, warmth and supportive nature – and not to mention – his amazing gymnastics skills.
